What do British people really think of having their troops in Afghanistan?

I am pleased the number of deaths seem to have vastly reduced since we got the new con/lib coalition. When we had Gordon Browns Labour government there seemed to be someone coming back every day. I am not alone in wondering why we are in Afghanistan. The Muslim influence is always less when we have a Tory government. Had labour have stayed in power we would have soon become an Islamic state with sharia law.
