I just signed a lease for a condo and found out that the landlord owes three years in back taxes. What do I do?
I signed the lease on May,16 and was promised the carpets were to be cleaned or replaced. They tried three times cleaning and then finally told me if the last attempt didn't work they would replace. It is now June, 30 and I'm still not in. I do have a few items and a car there, but Not moved in. I'm asking for my money back but now have found out they owe almost $5000 in taxes. The condo will go up for tax sale in august. What steps should I take? And also, I'm thinking about being present for the sale and possibly buying it! Would that be a wise move?
