History Question!! HELP!!!!?

The choice of time period is odd. The "tension" was greater later in the 19th century. One example, during the 1820 and 30s, however, is that of President Andrew Jackson's policy towards the Cherokees. More opportunity for white settlement came at the expense of equal rights for (not to mention, as one normally would, fair treatment of) the native peoples moved out of those same lands.
